I ghosted the gym for a month. I ghosted God for years. Has he run out of patience with me?

Fair question. Someone grieving and hurting wrote this in Lamentations. Listen.

Scripture: It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

Wait, hurting? I figured a line like that came from somebody with perfect form.

Lamentations is sad poems about Jerusalem falling in 586 BCE. A few lines before, the writer says, my strength has perished, along with my expectation from Yahweh. Then they recall this, and so they have hope.

Okay, but hope's easy to say. Doesn't patience run out?

I don't have every answer. But a few lines later it says he's good to the soul who seeks him. And Christians believe Jesus died and rose to free us from sin and open the way to new life.

So coming back looks like a good place to start? Because I'd honestly like to come back.

Hey, you. Seeking him is a good place to start today. When you picture God being tired of you, where did that picture come from? Tell him, God, I want to know you, or reach out to a Christian friend. Follow along.
