Caleb: My worst moments have a great memory. They show up whenever it's quiet. Is that record still out there somewhere?

Hannah: I've got a few of those too. The letter names Paul and Timothy as writers, to the church in a small city called Colossae. Listen.

Scripture: You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;

Caleb: Dead is a heavy word. And all of it forgiven? Even the stuff I'm still embarrassed about?

Hannah: The letter says we were dead in trespasses, and he made us alive together with Christ, forgiving all our trespasses and nailing the handwriting against us to the cross. I need that grace as much as you do.

Caleb: Then why do my mistakes still feel so loud?

Hannah: Feelings can stay loud a while. But this verse is about what God did, not how we feel today.

Caleb: It sounds almost too good. What do I even do with that?

Hannah: One article says Jesus's death paid the price for our sin, and trusting in him is how a relationship with God starts. No magic formula, just a simple prayer, and the words needn't be eloquent.

Hannah: Carry this today: the letter says the handwriting against us was wiped out and nailed to the cross. What would it feel like to set that memory down? Talk to God honestly, or reach out to me or a Christian friend. Follow for more talks like this.
